As
the son of Thurlow and Lynda Switzer, Dan grew up in the church
at Northgate. He received the Lord as his Savior at the age of four
and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a senior in high
school. Amid much suffering and personal doubt during his college
years, Dan embraced the call to teach young people and to help them
to grow in their walk with the Lord. That sense of mission motivates
him to this day in working with children and with parents.
Dan serves the Lord with his wife Silvia, whom
he met while both were teaching at Montgomery County Covenant Academy,
a Christian school supported by Northgate. He presently servesas
principal of Ets Chaiyim (Tree of Life) School, a ministry of Beth
Messiah Congregation. They have two small children.
In addition, Dan and Silvia enjoy directing Camp
Courage, a ministry of Northgate with the purpose of helping children
to be courageous champions for God. Dan oversee's the children's
ministries at Northgate, and Silvia serves as the director for the
younger children's church. Dan and Silvia also have enjoyed developing
mutually-uplifting relationships with others committed to living
for Jesus through the home group ministry.
